BLUE MIND:
a Visual Transformation Effort for Ocean Conservation
Showcasing our planet through the eyes of Sigrid Beckmann and Susana Portillo,
travel with the Ocean Race with the Viva Mexico team to inspire and lead change
Blue Mind is a state of mind. An invitation to embrace the Ocean as the source that sustains Life and keeps our Planet healthy. An encounter that opens our connection with the Ocean, ourselves and each other. With this photographic series, BLUE MIND aims to stir the heart and inspire our imagination by showing the beauty of our Blue. People protect what they love, so BLUE MIND is casting a net to make us fall deeply in love with it.
BLUE MIND will showcase these impactful images online alongside the Ocean Race, as well as with exhibitions where the Race stops, with the final presentation of the book, BLUE MIND at the Ocean Race finish line in Genoa, Italy. Order BLUE MIND to keep this inspirational journey with you. BLUE MIND proceeds will help spread education on ocean health, circularity and to restore key ecosystems as well as support blue carbon efforts. We need to work together for transformation. BLUE MIND is for anyone that believes in the power of collaboration to achieve change.

Being from a family of sailors, her continuous and deep contact with the Sea has generated in her awe, love, passion and absolute respect for this living force on which all of us on this planet depend deeply.
Sigrid seeks to create awareness of the importance of a clean and healthy Ocean by showing us its beauty, strength, irreverence, nobility and endless energy.

Susana Portillo
“No matter what you do, what you dream of or what you want to do, as long as you follow your heart, nothing and no one can stop you. Pursue your happiness.”
Before becoming a photographer Susana worked in advertising for a long time with major brands, but she knew she was missing out on much more, so she sold everything but her camera and went around the world to fulfill her dream of being a travel photographer.
From Portugal to Japan, she sought to broaden her vision of the world, learn about new cultures, discover the reality in which we live and, in this way, inspire more people to fulfill their dreams no matter how complicated they may seem.
